2022 Drama NZ National Conference

Drama NZ Otago Southland Branch invites you to the Drama New Zealand National Conference Tīmatanga Hōu | New Beginnings, Otago Boys’ High School, Ōtepoti Dunedin from the 1st to the 3rd of October 2022.

The theme of Tīmatanga Hōu | New Beginnings examines a fresh new start within the arts as we negotiate education during and beyond the pandemic, beginning with our new curriculum. Our logo represents our experience as a collective group, nurturing the new. Our conference will focus on:

* The curriculum review and NCEA rewrite

*  Mātauranga Māori and cultural contexts

* Recreating ourselves in a Post-COVID world 

* The weaving together of arts with health and wellbeing aspects to function well as arts educators

Saturday includes our first keynote, representation of awards, exploring the Trades and a social time reconnecting with our drama whanau.

MONDAY 3rd OCTOBER
CLOSING 12.30pm   
Monday includes our second Keynote as well as final workshop sessions

PPTA PLD GRANTS

Did you know that PPTA members can apply for a $700 PLD Grant once a year?
This is to contribute to registration fees, accommodation, travel, childcare but cannot pay for relief.
The money is paid directly to the teacher themselves…

Scholarships

Drama NZ are again offering three scholarships of $500 each for three successful applicants to use to enable them to attend this year’s national conference.

Scholarships are available for a:

RURAL TEACHER - for a teacher in a rural location from any sector
BEGINNING TEACHER - for a teacher in first or second year from any sector
PRIMARY TEACHER - for a teacher working in years 1-8.
TERTAIRY STUDENT / PRE-SERVICE TRAINING TEACHER - for a student of theatre or education

include:
- Full Name,
- Institution / school name,
- Which scholarship you are applying for,
- A statement regarding how you would benefit from being awarded a scholarship,
- Principal or Senior Leaders letter of endorsement. For preservice teachers or tertiary students this can be a lecturer or associate teacher.

Applications close 21 May 2022.
